Noice/ Noise

Acclaimed far beyond Frankfurt, choreographer Paula Rosolen develops her new dance production from the gripping, shimmering roar that constantly surrounds us. In "Noice/Noise," the dancers cut a path through the noise, challenging it and, amidst a highly evocative stage design, creating a physical expression for the oscillation between clarity and chaos, simplicity and explosion. Everything is noise: wailing drunks on the last subway. Noise music. The overwhelming sound and image impressions of scrolling through social media. Op art. Or the endless churning of thoughts in one's own head that just won't stop. Noise never really stops.

“En Liesse” (in English “In Jubilation”) is an immersive choreographed performance by Bela and Côme for six performers and an active audience. It’s a big shared experience, reflecting our society: dancers and audience alike—we’re all participants. We question, we doubt together, and, above all, we set ourselves in motion to develop our power to act upon the world. There’s dancing, singing, and plenty of storytelling.

We come alone, and we leave as a community. Drawing inspiration from sociologist Bruno Latour’s reflections in Where to Land, the piece aims to redefine our interdependencies and our capacity for action to gain momentum, build dynamism, and set ourselves in motion!
